Lely mower bed

Afternoon I have a lely 280 lc mower, went out today to mow cut a few acres and stopped to the land owner, went to start up again and the bed won't spin. It'll spin nearly full circle then stops and the same if you turned it the other way. I find it odd as there was no problem before I turned it off. Could it be the bed it self or gearbox at the start of bed? All discs move together so it can't be the shaft up through the bed. Anyone any ideas before I have to take everything apart? Many thanks

I'm pointing more towards the gearbox on the end. It's the older type where the gearbox is also the pivot for the mower. The bed all turns freely until it hits a certain place. I guess removing gearbox then turn will tell me which bit is wrong

Likely it's bearing gone on the bottom gear and either teeth damaged or balls from the bearing getting jammed in the teeth. Don't skimp on the replacement bearings they need to be best quality fast running type or you'll be back to square one after an acre

Bottom gear you mean at the gearbox end or the gear under the pod?

Iv been playing with it tonight! Turns out the first disc nearest the gearbox has slipped and is touching the next disc. Least I know what it is. Question is. Is it the shaft gone wrong or the module itself. The rest of the bed is fine

Amy play in the disc bearings? Could have just jumped a few teeth in the unit

Yes abit of play took the hat off and turned it round but after turn on off for a while I think it's gone back to original place so I don't think it can be the shaft but the module. Can I get into the module from the top without having to take the bed off?

Ours was the older version, but take disc off and there should be some Allen bolts holding the top section down. Get them out and tap the top up. You can check the gears and bearings from there. Had one lose two teeth from the top gear and it went out of time like yours
