I've got an oil leak on an old 2m lely power harrow.
Is it an easy job to replace the bottom bearing and oil seal ?

Very easy although getting the tins to match up after is a pig! We had trouble resealing an old one so found mastic worked a treat!!

not sure if your's is the same model or design.

Been a few years since I did one but will try to remember. Took the 3 point linkage frame off first then the crumbler roller was removed along with the front soil board. The gear box was removed next which if iirc just lefted straight out with a gear connected to the down shaft. The tins just remove as 2 full sheets, you can leave the caps in place. If you are messing with the bearings or seals then take the whole bed apart. made it much easier and can check all the gears. Our problem was gears chipping teeth but that was due to wear in the housing. Easiest way is sit either end on sleeper blocks then you can turn the tines once the lids are off. We replaced all the felt washers once we had it apart.

Like BAC, it's been a long time since we done one. Think there's a circlip under the top bearing holding the shaft in. Unbolt the bottom bearing housing and the whole rotor drop out of the gear. Don't rotate the rest while the shaft is out or it will move the gear out of position. Have a look here;- http://www.tulipindustries.com

Are the bolts in the bottom housing captive? I paid £250 for a 3m with oil leaks. Took one of the bottom housings off and couldn't get the bolts to go back in.
Assumed the nuts had got lost inside so weighed it in cos I couldn't be arsed messin

There is a loose plate on the inside of the trunking with 4 holes tapped in it, if its like the maschio and it moves out of position i just use a thin screwdriver to get it back in alignment.

Hi. New guy here. Im doing a rebuild on one of these machines . Its a T35. Im replacing all the seals and bearings on the underside. My question is the center shaft( the one direct from the gearbox) is sitting about 15 mm higher than all the rest, when i removed all the
Bearing housings this shaft had no spacer bush above the gear wheel...hence the oul seal had nothing to seal on. Any ideas why this shaft is longer. Any help or advice is appeceated. Thanks in advance
