Lely welter Rp202 special bailer wrapping fault

Hi a friend of mine has this Lely bailer but didn't do the inter net and I'm not very knowledgeable on this bailer but here goes !
So he rolls up the hay and it should sound an alarm then automatically wrap the netting around the bail but it doesn't always do this ?
It has a button in the cab he can manually operate the function but this doesn't work straight away !!
If he keeps trying eventually it works !
Now this to me seems something is out of alignment but as I said I've never worked on one !
I've checked the metal and plastic roller and they seem free ,there is also a sponge like pipe lagging opposite this if free and clean ?
There like a wing nut bolt with a spring on either side they seem to be adjusted equally !
Any input would be great thanks

Could be the drive belt slipping.When you press the button,or it trips automatically,the clutch engages (only when pto engaged)and a v belt spins the net roller.Either that or electrical connection.

Thanks funny you should say that as he has the belt off I will start there and thank you

You should be able to hear the clunk of the net clutch if you press the button with the engine off.

If OK, it's mechanical, otherwise electrical.
