Lethargic Ewe

Hi all,

Been out to feed the sheep this morning and an experienced ewe who had twins a month ago is keeping herself away from the flock and not coming for food. She is moving about ok but just seems very lethargic. From what I can see she hasn't got mastitis orany other outward signs of distress/illness.
Any suggestions?

Could be anything I'm afraid. As she's got lambs at foot it would be worth you giving her something. Penicillin, alamycin, calcium and mag would cover quite a few possibilities! At least when she does drop dead you can console yourself with the knowledge that you did try!

Don't give penicillin and alamycin together, they stop each other working.

Just had another thought, look out for signs of listeria. She might start walking stiffly or look up towards the sky. Could be a risk if it's a bit muddy.

She seems much better this evening, came for food, stood her ground and protected her lambs.
She must have got out of the werong side of the bed.
