Levelling concrete yard

Hi. I'm looking for opinions on trying to improve a concrete yard. Basically, the concrete was put down about 15years ago and the job wasnt overly good. The two issues was that the finish was poor and it isn't level. There is a reasonable fall on the yard and water doesn't lie on it but at the same time it's not level iykwim. I have used a diamond grinder and this has improved the finish of the concrete but I am looking for opinions on how to improve the levelling finish. Could anyone knowledgeable give me a rundown on options. Can a screed or some sort of self levelling levelling compound be used it this case? How durable are these to heavy traffic and machinery turning? What is the recommended thickness to apply (really looking for something no more than 25mm. The total area is about 200m2

Thanks in advance for any advice

going to be a struggle to keep anything on there with heavy traffic

Start again sadly.

same problem here. Been replacing it slowly but horrid job if you don’t have much fall to play with and you have to second guess where the newer slabs uphill will be so you can get the cracked, lower slab replaced with correct levls.

i don’t think self levelling will last, ag tyres show no mercy, especially in the summer.

There is an outfit here called mudruckers. They pump clay slurry under sunken pads and driveways to level them. Also do silage towers that start to lean. Not sure if your yard is sunken or just poorly done in the first place. Personally I’d be tempted to cut it out in manageable size slabs to use elsewhere like a walk way for example and pour a new one. Not cheap but done right and your grandchildrens kids will thank you when they retire. Always enough time and money to do it right the second time.

Funnily enough I was looking at our photos last night of a trip to Italy, I had taken one using the next door building as a comparison, and the lean on that tower really is amazing! It had been stabilised then and I think that brought it back a couple of degrees, it is amazing that the integral strength of the building has kept it in one piece for so long.

Sorry way off op topic!

I know we’re of the topic for a few minutes did you manage to go up ?my good lady and myself when up the tower in 2015 What a weird feeling when you’re at the top you look down from the leaning side and you cannot see the bottom of the tower and you look from the other side all you see is the second floor from the top it’s a wonder it stay up.

Unfortunately we couldn’t go up, it was closed for surveying work the day we were there. I wanted to take photos from the top and was annoyed we were there on the wrong day! We were on a tour bus with Bay Farms so no second chance.

Did you hear the bell chime while you were up at the top? That was one of favourite bits!
