Got a 272 that starts fine, will run for 5 or 10 minutes then just dies and won’t start again till you bleed her, but no air at pump and plenty of diesel, she has started running diesel out of a little hole in the side of injector pump that’s clearly supposed to be there, once she’s restarted and hot she runs fine - till next time she’s cold

Are you saying it’s peeing diesel out of that little hole while it’s running ??

that’s the bleed screw, undo it a bit and lift pump til there’s no more air coming out, then tighten it up

if it’s peeing diesel out the threads are stripped or it’s just loose

That could be the hole fuel leaks out if the front oil seal fails. Just doing a perkins engine jcb injector pump for that exact reason! Shouldn't stop it running though.

They were sods for getting muck in the banjos. Might be 2 unrelated problems.

Some of those rotary pumps had a gauze filter in the inlet fitting.
