Got some finishing heifers showing signs of lice. What's the shortest withdrawal product to sort them out?
Surely you mean a salt fly gun.Airgun and patience
Further research suggests spot on at 17 days is as good as I'll find?
Only if it starts to slow down their growth rates. Will it matter if they’re going deadweight
When are they going for slaughter.
Aren’t these statements slightly contradictory?Only if it starts to slow down their growth rates.
Started picking from them already.
Thought that might be a response!Aren’t these statements slightly contradictory?
If they’re close to slaughter I’d shave them and let the air get to themThought that might be a response!
Well, no in that the first 2 sent were showing no signs, but several of the remaining animals are getting worse.
I would say the same with spot on but I think dysect is better, maybe because it goes right alone the backMy experience with spot-on, has taught me that you might as well grow a pound per animal in the bin and spray the cattle with water.
When are they going for slaughter.
Pigs are a bit balder though, I am not sure that it works tbh.Didn't pig farmers usea a weak washing up liquid solution poured on the pigs back for lice? Probably cost a fortune for cattle.
+1 for using a pour on wormer, seems to be the only one off treatment.Pigs are a bit balder though, I am not sure that it works tbh.
I will be using the pour on wormer - but 28 days withdrawal and I wouldn't send any from a pen where I had used it even if they actually hadn't had the pour on themselves - potential to sort out worst and treat in another pen?
What was it? Evian?I got a pour on today which has a 3 day withdrawal, seems very short
Definitely 3 days. I've cattle to go in Wednesday which have lice, treat or not? What was it? Evian?
