I count five

Presumably profitable for eBay resale.
2 of mine, one for a friend or a spare for site work.
The other 3 were @TripleSix and his friend and the guy behind them at the till.
They're useful but I don't need 5.
I forgot about them until 8 this morning and landed at local Lidl to see one bloke in overalls wheeling one out in a trolley.
We nodded to each other and carried on.

Bought one this morning from Shrewsbury (about 10am, only one left on sale after I took mine). Already have the one without a compressor which gets used only occasionally, but fancied this at the price because of the built in air compressor.

First impression, build quality looks good, ready to use straight out of the box as it says - although there is a switch you need to change to "internal air supply" and also a valve you need to make sure is set to internal air supply (it comes with a short length of air hose so you can use an external air supply. Comes with a blue 3 pin plug fitted.

Used it initially to cut some 6mm plate which it did easily at a setting of 25amps, then turned it fully up to 40 amps and tried it on 10mm plate which it managed, although you obviously had to take it slowly. Then when I tried another cut on the 10mm stuff the thing stopped! Thought at first it was the thermal cut-out because the duty cycle at full power is something like 20%. However turned out I'd blown the fuse in my 13amp plug (was using a converter connector, naughty I know). Looks like I might need to put in a dedicated circuit.

One other thing - when running on the internal compressor, it's bloody noisy!!

Alchad

Edit....just thinking about why the fuse blew on the cutter with the built in compressor when using the blue to 13amp converter connector when it has never happened with the other Lidl one- maybe the extra power required for the internal compressor pushed the electrical demand over the edge??
Oooops!

I did the same with my welder, welding some heavier strrl plate than normal and cranled up the juice.... Now got a new 16amp plug in teh workshop :)

I got mine at Hawick this morning, they had 7 in stock at 8am, so was 6 left,
Tried it late thus afternoon, straight out of the box, put together leads etc.
And it was not bad for the price, and it won't get used much,
Cut a bit of scrap steel at 8mm think fairly clean really,
So happy with it for now

Got a couple of projects so should be useful here .... and will also dump my account with BOC for the gas axe oxy!

Brought one last week, it’s really good. Only had a little play with it but cut some 10mm effortlessly, have brought a few tools from Lidl and they have all been good.
Had a tip from a farmer who had been using steel plate or box section as a guide to get a straight line. He found the tips soon wore. He found out that the steel bends the flame. Using a wood straight line did the job. Saved the expense of new tips. #farmideas

One of the pair I bought is going back.
Compressor doesn't run and even on external air the torch doesn't fire up.
It's probably just an internal non-connection but I'm not overjoyed at the one that does run either.
I'll be saving up for an Rtech.
