Lift arm rate control

Hi all,

Recently bought my dads old landini off him and he may have been slightly selective telling me about the faults! I put a topper on the linkage and noticed the arms are very slow to lower. I found the rate knob under the seat only to look under the cab and realise it’s not connected, having broken at some point! It’s quite congested down there so I can’t see where it would have connected originally. My question is, is there usually anything you can manually adjust on the linkage to change the rate or do I have to bite the bullet and send it to the mechanics to reinstate that control under the seat?
Thanks
