Looks like the ADAS/Rothamsted prediction model was right - LLS very easy to find in North Lincs, these leaves have been in airing cupboard for 18 hours.

Careful monitoring over next few weeks needed - threshold is 25% plants infected

I was at a farm walk the other day and the advice was to spray if you see any at all due to the huge yield losses suffered on this side of the pond last year

Big thinking on the thresholds are set too high

How long would 0.3 Proline last for? Applied 7th December - I'm not imagining much activity left. Some done 15th Jan - still ok? I have propagated a few leaves but no symptoms.

It will have been colder higher up - that's the weather LLS seems to favour. Despite being a long way South & 20 miles from the South Coast I had LLS quite badly last year.

Proline normally, but for a bit of pgr effect too I'm going for a litre of tebuconazole (250g) in the next week - 10 days. LLS in PR46W21 & Expower here. Compass & V316 are clean but will get teb (+ boron) at green/yellow bud anyway.

It doesn't take a huge leap to say that this is why you are starting to see more varieties coming through that have decent LLS genetic resistance.

Breeders have been selecting for good resistance to it but I doubt anyone predicted just how fast it has spread to the whole of the country...well pretty well all the country.
