Lightweight gates

Looking for some light duty 4' gates for our pig races as we extend the field network more and more. To act as back stops at certain points. Don't need to be as heavy duty as IAE, something in between those and cheap sheep hurdles in terms of steel sizing.
Any ideas?

Don't dick about trying to get a light weight gate.
Not worth it.

It's only that they've not got to take any sustained abuse, just to stop pigs back tracking when moving them.
And I need a few so looking to keep costs down

I don't think you'll get a cheaper gat than an IAE, Ashbourne they're making so many of them.

If you look at McVeigh Parker's clipex catalogue you will find gates there for the Australian outback which would be just the job. Unfortunately they aren't importing them.

We just use cheap/old hurdles with single ring ends attached to hinges screwed onto fence posts. The top hinge can be upside down to stop piggies lifting the "gate" off.

OH just suggested some of the 18mm outdoor plywood we already have and just add hinges. even cheaper and customisable if the gap is not spot on. admittedly probably won't last as long but a good proof of concept and crucially cheap and quick to implement now

Have you actually priced a basic iae or Bateman gate? You may be surprised how cheap they are.

It's not just the cost, but a small hurdle-weight gate can be hung on pretty much the same posts I'm already knocking in rather than having to put gate posts in.
