We had a JCb done think it cost about 3K by the time you took the boom off etcHas anyone had a telehandler main pivot line bored & welded in the east of England. If so, who by and what is a rough cost?
Thanks
Where’s @Thick Farmer when you need him, I’m sure @ACEngineering would approve!Ouch…. Probably not worth it on an 8000 hour Merlo.
That sounds more it. Worth doing at that price.80 to 100 a hole round here
Probably couldI keep looking at mine and I reckon I can do it with a mag drill, no need for line boring .
So a telehandler main boom pin refurb will be about 400 plus new pin and bushesThat sounds more it. Worth doing at that price.
That sounds
Surely if I had a broach cutter right size weld all the holes up drill em out in the right place jobs a good in ?Probably could
Weld a thick plate on for the drill then tack a plate over with a correct size pre drilled hole in
Thing with line boring is they set the rig up then turn the hole out then weld it up then turn out to correct oe size
The weld would be hard to drill out but not impossibleSurely if I had a broach cutter right size weld all the holes up drill em out in the right place jobs a good in ?
I’ve drilled welded up holes out many a time with the mag drill , key is hmt cutters not evolution crap and plenty fluid .The weld would be hard to drill out but not impossible
You get it right thenI’ve drilled welded up holes out many a time with the mag drill , key is hmt cutters not evolution crap and plenty fluid .

Can only tell you what I've heard from engineer mate of mineNo way, not for boring out then bore welding and reboring back to standard.
It's best part of a normal working day to turn up onsite to a machine that is preped ready to start setting up the boring tool, do the job, clean up and go home. You wouldnt even get the guy on site for £100 when he has at least 10k of boring gear plus another 5k of bore welding gear. And that's just the bare minimum of gear.
