Just to add its Unlimited DATA aswell directly linked to a Fibre Connection onto BT's network at the source over 9 miles away but after that it has nothing to do with BT as its an ISP called Entanet who the local Computer Shop uses who did all of this install.
Ave cost to each property just to install it all & have 24/7 ongoing maintenance if you had to pay is in the region of £2k
+ £30 a monthly charge

Ok so had some costs back in, not stupid money for install nad when spread out reasonably cheap per house hold.

Should I make sure I own the kit I install? What pitfalls are there with these systems?

Going to try and sell it on to other houses in the area and see if they want in too!

I'm looking for a new project/venture! As you probably know we're currently with EE using 4G. Speed wise it is fine, but we can only get so much data per month. We are quite lucky being on higher ground outside the village, so we can just pick up one of the masts off the A12. However the village itself is mostly a mobile "not spot" for virtually all the mobile carriers, certainly not good enough for high speed data. We've been completely overlooked by BT/Openreach for FTTC upgrades. Absurd considering BTs research facility at Adastral Park is up the road.

So I'm thinking of doing some homework to see where we could get a fibre in and then bounce a high bandwidth WiFi signal along the village....

For a lot of rural locations 4g maybe the best bet until BT get everyone connected(they are improving) After trying most things we have Vodafone 4g 50GB for £25/mth and it is really fast, cant believe it works so well with a router the size of a credit card!

wurzel web as @Brisel said

We're clinging to the side of a steep and sparsley occupied dale.

Can't even get internet on the landline, so got rid.

Mobile signals very patchy, 02 is best.

Now have a Chinese, possibly illegal booster that gives us good mobile signal in the "house"

Got 02 mobile broadband wi-fi dongle, 15gb for £20 a month.

Am seeing 3-4mbps on download.

Am happy with that, not great for YouTube etc, but better than being a total hermit.

I put together some quotes, but as others have mentioned we are unlikely even to get 3mb as we're several miles from the nearest exchange. Has anyone got any leads on unlimited wireless internet?
