Line one Herefords

They burn , they used to burn worse but after thirty years of cattle they burn less !! Muck spreading is a great thing .
Yes, that almost sounds as if you have added organic matter i.e. carbon to your soil and so have done your bit to combat climate change. But it's to do with cattle, which are an environmental disaster as we all know, so that can't be right. Can it?? 🤔

We have been using Ervie bulls for the last 7 years and are very pleased with them.

@Hilly have you ever heard any figures/percentages about the amount of genetic material that the Line ones share. They have been linebred for a considerable length of time. No bad thing for pedigree stock if properly managed. I went to a farm walk in Ayrshire, they had imported Anxiety 4th Herefords from the US. They had been preserved in one herd over there and linebred for 100 years plus. I was told that they shared 80% of their genetic material. The cattle are tremendously consistent, as you might expect.

It would be up around 80% I would think, that's the point of them.

Dot know the exact figure but it will be around 80% , consistency is part of the point of them.
