Linseed fungicide

Is it worth putting any on Spring linseed? It's dry and the linseed is flowering. Unless we get a lot of rain I'm not sure I can see any point of doing anything in this hot weather.
What diseases is linseed at risk of?

Botrytis, but I would say 9 out of 10 years it doesn't pay and in the 10th year it will probably stay wet and the fungicide will run out of legs and the crop succumbs anyway.
We used to put 1 L teb on but in latter years haven't and I cannot say it's made any notable difference.

First and only time, protecting the developing pods as well as the leaves. I'm on a seed contract, so need it clean though the drought has limited its yield potential so I'm relcutant to chuck lots of money at it. I only did one fungicide last year & it made the grade for disease.

Oh. I have always done my one pass at early/mid flower. Perhaps I'm wrong.

This is last years advice from premium crops (part of it anyway) and is probably where I got my timings from;

"For crops at green bud stage, fungicide for the developing flowers and capsules is necessary and fungicide use is essential. The most common diseases on linseed (in no particular order) are:

 Botrytis

 Septoria Linicola

 Alternaria sp

Linseed yield is produced from active photosynthesis (not from re-distribution), so maintaining green leaf area with fungicides during flowering and pod fill is vital.
If the flowering period continues ‘damp’, a further fungicide will be beneficial 2 to 3 weeks later, towards the end of flowering."

This years is slightly different talking about 1 fungicide at a later timing.

Ok. My advice came from Sam the PC agronomist - perhaps I misheard or they may have changed their advice. The flowering period has been very dry so far!

I think my fungicide timings were wrong and I should have left a bit longer, quite a lot of powdery mildew in there now, though not sure how much teb would have helped anyway? Anybody else seen any? Seen it before but quite a way into senescence. Also a lot of later flowers didn't set in the heat last week.

When did you spray? I did mine about 10 days ago with probably 80% flowering finished.

Same here. In the past I have done an early and mid/late flowering spray so I double checked with Sam and he recommended just one end of flowering fungicide.
