I dont find the straw rets until these heavy dews start. Never been going this late before - this is not usual harvest time for linseed for us.

I don't care what the moisture is - if it goes in the combine it's going in the shed! One sheltered field has green seeds of 20%. That's going to take some drying.

Managed another 12 acres today. Getting there slowly. No idea what moisture it was but I'm with Brisel, if it'll combine it's going in the shed.

Ours is damp and needs drying. Going to stick it in some kind of mobile drier with stirrer / dust removal and ruffle the stuff to bits. tbh, this is almost a month later than we have cut it before, and the first time ever we have finished beans before the linseed.

That being said, we are plouging after the linseed (for canary seed) and it is incredible how such a cacky little plant has such massive roots. Ploughing nasty clay and its turning over lovely.

We've clearly been very lucky this year as it was a breeze cutting ours. Dropping the area though this year to 18ha from 52ha as we don't want to push our luck with the crop! We will plant it earlier as well I think so we are cutting it early September rather than mid September as the weather might not play ball next year!

Managed to get ours finished today. The fields that were sprayed 10 days later than the rest were a doddle. Very little wrapping, straw was still a bit green but held together so we could seperate the seed. Good clean sample.
Lesson learned.....Don't let it get too ripe before cutting it.
