It's been sprayed off for 3 weeks. That's annual meadow grass growing, a weed that I get in spring barley (the previous crop).

@static NuLin 50, a new yellow variety. I'll measure up the bins when we've finished drying it. Not bad but at 800 seeds/m2 seed rate it needs a Toprex for PGR as most of mine was bent over badly enough to give @tw15 a few more grey hairs.

Just that one field that had bad meadow grass only about 20 acres out of 150 ish rest as clean as a whistle. Don't know what variety it was but did seem very tall stemmy stuff compared to other linseed i have cut in the past . Brisel will be along to tell us more i'am sure

Is there much left @Wheatonrotty ? i was hoping to see you last night to tell you about the stripper header,
Down to about 5 acres so about half a day, although amongst the swearing Richard did mention Swan vestas ! Not sure what was causing problems as I didn't want to sound to interested until it's all cleared up.
My combine found a new game to play yesterday with the chaff spreader swinging back on the gas struts as I went up hill and blocking the walkers.

Are you planning on growing some next year?

This thread makes interesting/fun reading. Does nobody else grow winter linseed? I cut my 45 acres one afternoon back at the end of 1st week of August. A bit later thn average this year Usually about 3rd week of July. Never had a problem cutting it.

To be fair, we normally romp through the spring linseed first week of September, so hoping this is just a one-off.

Which is that? Juliet is late maturing isn't it?

Apparently, but never really seen much difference between varieties, and cant say the easy cut varieties are any better.

Just heard that they have finished off the bit I was battling with. So 95 acres two lexions defeated within 100 yards, 6 days for 80 acres with our T560 breaking the concave actuator in the process and a day and a half for an axial flow with a stripper header to do the last 15 acres, and the loadall that was pushing the straw up nearly up in flames.
If our agronomist so much as mentions linseed I may not be responsible for my actions!
