I drilled through chopped linseed with my KV tine seeder, direct. No bother at all.Agreed, seems criminal.

Getting it in the header wasn't the problem.It’s not the combine it’s the header. If you can get it past the header table then in any machine it’s not an issue as long as you check it regularly in case it’s wrapping around a shaft or something.
