I used to put a lot of liquid N on grassland as we also did all cereals/arable with liquid N.
The response was instant, I put 70uN Of liquid on some Italians and it was far quicker growing and yielded better than the ground i put 70uN solid on.

You need proper fert nozzles like a Hypro ESI or Agroco umbrella nozzles or chafer stream bars.
What make/size and boom size of sprayer are you on.
You also need liquid fertiliser tanks and they tend not to deliver less than 24,000litre (24m3)

will be using a 24 meter sprayer

what company's supply liquid fert
Yara and Omex, how much grassland to do? How big is the tank on the sprayer? And how far is your furthest block..
It rots the sprayers like anything so washing it off after every day on liquid N is a must!

I fail to see much advantage on most grass farms. Iirc fert price works out fairly similar, but with added storage infrastructure costs (unless you don’t already have a shed to store fert I guess). You save the cost of a spinner, and can put everything on with one machine of course, but no leeway on missed strips:whistle:. Uneven fields and trees would be my biggest issue here, and would make it a slow old job running about with a 24m SP. I reckon i’m Better off keeping my twenty year old spreader a bit longer.

If you have big, flat prairie fields and enough acres to use 24k litres of any/each product, then maybe a different scenario.

I would say yes if through a boom sprayer PA1 & 2 would be needed. @Brisel

Since it's not a pesticide, no you don't need PA1 or 2A. The qualification relates to plant protection products i.e. pesticides.

Yes. I use liquid fertiliser on grass and crops. A purpose built sprayer is better because liquid fertiliser is highly corrosive and 30% more dense than water so a full load will give much more strain on wheels & chassis. If you were only doing a bit then yes, it would be ok.

Use fertiliser nozzles or you'll get serious grass scorch.

No, you can't buy it in a concentrated form - the only "concentrate" really available is neat UAN which is far too scorchy by itself. Some liquid fertiliser users have their own equipment for mixing solid fertilisers with water but for the hassle and scale needed to justify it you may as well buy the solid stuff and a second hand twin disc spreader!

the main reason for using sprayer was even application, wont be doing large ares, all grassland

has anybody any experiences with Foliar Nitrogen fertilisers from BFS ?
As in the PolyNplus?

The tank etc would be the mostly costly part of the infrastructure, the massively increased amount of rust on the sprayer has also got to be factored in..
