Hi folks is anybody used liquid gold on there sheep flock any good. Giving it a go this year.

I think it’s a mineral drench? Used to be pretty expensive compared to competitors.

If so make sure you’ve tested your lambs/ewes first to make sure you need to use a product. If they’re not mineral deficient you’ll be wasting your money.

Anyone compared the likes of Liquid gold, liquithrive and WelshFarmSupplies?

Surely the whole “cobalt can’t be stored in the body” problem is going to be overcome at some point?

I’ve only used bolus’s for this reason.

Some snake oil salesmen will tell you they’ve already cracked the Cobalt thing.....

All drenches much of a muchness ime, with all only giving a quick boost. If cobalt is an issue, you’d have to be drenching every few days, other TE’s would last a bit longer.

Company trials are of no use, VW car’s proved that
Independant trials, this is the sort of thing Harper/RAC/SRUC/Aber should be doing to actually benefit others!!!

The only way they’d be doing those trials, is if a company was sponsoring it. Much like the Cambridge Uni trials of lamb colostrum a few years ago, sponsored by Farmsense iirc.

Tried it a few years back, I can't say I noticed any impact on lwg, fully EID and weighed weekly. My experience only.
