That i appreciate. Luckily a fair % of the diet will be WC so plenty of fibre. Liquids seem to be around the 70%dm. Its going to look expensive, but thats the year

WC is whole crop I assume? I would look at on if the regumaize type products then you are getting protein as well. If you want to use as much liquid as you can use on if the lower protein ones. I think they come as 20%,44% and 66%. Protein is added urea. Makes it kind of cheaper than molasses alone although it’s dearer if you see what I mean although I wouldn’t rely on it alone for your protein source, a touch of soya with it would do the job

QLF have been doing it a long time through ad lib feeders and can put a limiter in to stop animals taking too much, worked really well for us in a past to get extra energy into a ration, just make sure you have enough feeders!

I would check the dry matter yourself as well. I’ve had feeds before with quoted dry matters and it wasn’t close. Turned viable feeds into very poor value feeds.

Yeah qlf do some big adlib feeders that hold a ton each. 1 per 100 cows. Have 2 x 30 ton tanks here already

Kiwis feed liquid feeds in the parlour- pumped in but I expect you’re feeding a fair slug in there already so may not have time to eat any more. How many kg DM are you expecting them to get from the liquid?

The cost of setting that up for hopfully once in a lifetime shortage wouldnt stack up. Will speak to a few nutrion based people on monday, but 2kgdm if that was a possibillity would pretty help the situation
