Lishman floor vent system vs pedestals

Its easier to pour a floor with these in than form channels for underfloor laterals. You want the pipes below the mesh so it does not affect the strength of the concrete and concrete them in to double up the join between the pipes. I have seen a joint fail and it was a case of using drain technology to do a glass fibre repair.

How do you stop them moving during loading?

I used to manage stores with lateral above floor drying and cooling ducts. We loaded those stores with an elevator but for lengthways ones we'd just use a forklift to pour some grain on or around them so they didn't move as we put more on top.

Above floor ducts are a whole different thing to twin wall pipes, a duct will stay there with a little grain on it, twin wall will move if you walk near it. I Have seen a store fitted out with them and scrapped the folllowing year due to this.

I’ve been using twin wall for 20+ years storing grain and osr upto 25 feet deep, never had a problem filling mostly with elevator to get maximum amount of grain in store

What do you hold them with, unless you run then lengthwise and not across the heap?
Yes lengthways just make sure when filling over pipes it’s over the top of pipe and not filling at one side of pipe or they will push away
