Somerset YFC favourite, without a doubt the group I’ve seen most. Not sure that’s a good thing😂

Bg
They had a gig at Hereford Racecourse so I took 2 hospitality boxes and filled them up with friends and business associates ......I put on a free bar and it was a great night ........until I came to pay the bar bill and found out that the YFC lads in the next box along had been putting their drinks on my bill 😦😦😦
....but it was a great night !!

Argent in Torquay, just before they had a hit record.

Hollies in Wakefield, more or less after their hit records

Creedence Clearwater Revival at Manchester Free Trades Hall at the top 5 of the charts frequently that year.

Spinners in Bridlington

And should have seen the Carpenters in Wakefield except Karen Carpenter decided to croak a few days before .

Status Quo came to Hereford leisure centre when I was 21, I’d been a fan throughout my teenage years. My sister was working for BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester at the time and got the job of interviewing them. They’d just started their soundcheck when we got there so we had to wait. Standing in the foyer, there was just a pair of double doors between me and them. I leant on the doors which turned out to be unlocked so I edged inside and had a one to one performance from them.
Afterwards we were introduced to the band and my sister tried to get a radio signal which proved impossible. Next thing I knew, Francis Rossi said that as they were staying at the Green Dragon Hotel next door to the radio station, we might as well jump on the tour bus with them and head back, so off we went!
Interview done, we went back to the leisure centre that evening for a great gig.
