I have a reo link go 4g camera with a vodaphone v sim it costs £4 a month it’s battery powered so you can mount it anywhere and view on a mobile phone wherever you are and it has a memory card in it so it can record as well

Battery lasts about 3 weeks but you can get a solar panel for it to keep it topped up, it doesn’t rotate it’s just a fixed camera, did see some on eBay a while back that you rotate off your phone.

I get 4g in the shed but not in my house. May need to look for an alternative.

So long as you’ve got WiFi at home and 4g in the shed these cameras work well, I generally top up the SIM card once a year with £50 of credit.

Depending on your setup why not look at installing an outdoor Wi-fi transmitter/bridge instead of using cellular data

Talk to me about this. I want to be able to broadcast WiFi from our farm house over our yard which is about 100m2. What do I need? Many reason is for putting up some security cameras
there’s going to be a couple of changes of the next year or so. Where I would put the transmitter is coming down and there internet will be wired to the cattle sheds/yard. Just looking for something for the next couple of months for calving.

Stick an outdoor Wi-fi access point up high on house or in attic. If house at edge of yard use directional transmitter. If it’s in middle then an omni-directional one. Had mine 5 years no problems. Connects via Ethernet cable and needs low voltage power supply
Cheaper than most indoor systems.

That’s point to point. Transmits over long range but only to each other.
Limiting factor will be your devices rather than the transmitter.
My phone connects through buildings etc up to 150 metres. Clear line of sight would be a lot further.
Cameras and equipment with own aerials should be better but you can install a second unit as a repeater if larger areas needed.

TP link do a good outdoor WiFi access point. It’s what I’ve set up. You need to connect some Ethernet (cat 5 / 6) cable from your home router and connect the other end to the outdoor access point. It uses power over Ethernet to power the ap. message me if you want more info and how to set it up.
