Hands up those that were there!

Of those, what can you say about the apparently very heated argument at one of the seminars, possibly after a Dairyco speaker? Top industry people were involved and six or more security men had to be deployed to cool things down. Allegedly.
I was busy talking about internet enabled remote cameras at around the time and missed the action. Drat!

What could they have been debating so passionately that it very nearly turned physical?

I did pass by while that was on. This wad later though. Probably around 2pm or later, because i talked to the friend who witnessed the aggressive phase on the phone at around 1.30 to 2.pm and it hadn't happened then.

Having started my day at 4am i was away home at 2.45pm for the 3.5 hour journey. Friends who left home at 5am and left the show at 5pm weren't home until 11pm what with gridlock on the M6 and all.

The place went completely dead at 5pm and they ended up closing it early at quarter to six.

Carnage then ensued as people started tearing down stands and fighting over telehandlers and forklifts which were like rocking horse sh!t to obtain!

This is where friends in the trade become invaluable.

I didn't see it but I heard that David Handley lost it big time (REAL big time) and was not very nice at all to the chap from DairyCo - getting very personal. Potter knows all about it but as he has been stirring it a lot recently, rumour has it he is rather alarmed at what has resulted from his stirrings hence a rather less aggressive newsletter this week.

3/7/13 Dairy Protest Survey
Having sent out e mails and texts yesterday to FFA members asking for a Yes or No to continued support for peaceful dairy protests, results so far have come back with 98% supporting this action. Facebook and Twitter postings have also echoed this result. It proves that dairy producers are still very unhappy with their farmgate price and that further action is needed.

I find Dairyco very useful. I wouldn't say there's not scope to save money in some areas, but we get our levy back. Perhaps some of you should try and engage instead of looking for negatives all the time. The levy costs your average million litre producer £600 per year, which doesn't go very far in employing private consultants (which is apparently what we should do instead of using dairyco). Furthermore, by involvement in Milkbench and discussion groups farmers are able to access far more information, ideas and opinions than could be gained by paying a consultant, who in many cases isn't capable of farming themselves.

Fair enough you think you get your levy back I don't! and would prefer not to pay them,I will have given them £10k in the last 10 years and had no option.:(
