Sorry so many threads on this my head is spinning abit. had a grassland bloke the other week on about us getting a wox guttler to thicken up pastures and reseed the new reseeds. but with this carbon neutral milk arla are banging on about. would it be better to get a t-sem drill, moore unidrill or jd 750a found a 2nd hand one? i wouldnt mind putting in a corn and pea mix then to catch crop and grass mix to grass sheep and silage ground. hopefully get OM up and hopefully produce more grass.

Would i be better stay away and get a contractor in but with the acreage we've got it would more than add to a drill plus some. just get a wox to do grass and get a contractor to direct drill the forage mixes?

I don't know a lot about those guttler things but they are a bit of a one trick pony aren't they? Only for grass and overseeding? Not knocking them they look really good for that but a drill is much more versatile.
I bought a simtech drill last year I'm doing some root crops, cereals and grass reseeding and overseeding with it. If I need to smash the top off to get something in I have used, and will again, use my old set of discs or one of the other old cultivation kit out of the nettles. I don't have any experience of any other direct drills but I'm very pleased with my simtech.
Using the drill for reseeding does mean I have to do 2 passes with the drill compares to a guttler, and a pass with a cultivator sometimes but swings and roundabouts. I don't have to get a contractor for anything now.
