Again, looking at where wife's ibuprofen comes from after concern about taste. Trail again leads to Mumbai and from company website pictures and literature I wouldn't even buy naan bread from them.
Now, my livestock drugs seem to only come from the top pharma companies so from now on buying my medicines from the vet if i don't feel well!!

Most British pharmacies can only buy from British manufacturers, who are licenced. Most drugs on prescription are made under licence here in Britain.
I think it is illegal to use animal meds on humans and I know chemists are not allowed to sell human drugs to be used on animals.

She knows you’re not supposed to chew them?

Only kidding. Yes, there’s some dodgy stuff about I always check packaging and don’t hold back when telling the doc that the pharmacy is getting cheapy stuff in.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek there but if you think your drugs are being manufactured in UK, research the MAH company. You may find the packaging is done here (and very nice it looks too) but the contents could be made anywhere.
Traceable? I'm not so sure, but I am sure that maximum profit for the pharmacist comes into play.

The one drug that is keeping me alive is produced in Britain by just one licenced company. They have increased the price by 5000% and GPs are no longer allowed to prescribe it. I now have to buy mine directly from America. The whole pharm companies are one big cartel and not interested in people and their health, just their profit.

They always say they need a return on their development costs (who doesn't?) but 5000% above what must have already been profitable sounds obscene.

Similar thing is happening with new chemo drugs being made.
A company will bring out a new drug and put a patent on it for a year so can charge what they want, we have new drugs for a patients once using the right amount of vials for their dose costing the nhs £15,000 + per treatment but then a year later all other companies will bring out the same drug for a fraction of the price

The government rightly takes a very dim view of companies trying to fleece the NHS.

The cost of manufacturing many drugs is basically tiny, it's the cost of R and D that smack them up. I agree though that any company who is trying to coin it in on life saving therapies should be run out of town.

I see that the company that I raised the matter about has had their licence withdrawn, albeit temporarily. It looks like someone in the regulatory department is taking notice.
