Livestock jobs in Birmingham

Hi there.

Are there any livestock jobs going in/around Birmingham.

I have some dairy experience.

I’m looking to make the career jump into farming but need a good foothold.

Any suggestions taken. Am eager to learn and gain new skills.

Please get in touch
Thanks
Richard

Local to where? Birmingham is a big place.
Sutton Coldfield Richard’s bio says.
Not many big livestock farms up Sutton but you may know of some Pete?

@Northeastfarmer i think the OP wants experience on farm not at PMM.
Looking at his profile he has put a lot of adverts in the “jobs” section since August, I wish him the best of luck! If only some people had his enthusiasm!

Thanks for the post.

I am interested. Really want to get out of my current office life and get some graft work in. Finding something with limited experience isn’t easy.
I was fortunate to get some experience on a local dairy farm. It’s hard to get into it if not from a farming background etc

If you’re in Sutton your nearest dairy farm must be John Griffin at Canwell. I think Hughie Willett has sheep not far away, Slade Lane?
Does Walter Smith the butchers still have a farm, they used to have beef and sheep iirc.not far away.
Next livestock farms I can think of are north of Lichfield.

Ps Reg Maybury milking at Little Hay.

Just about to say call round to Walter Smiths (Chase farm shop) and ask them if they know anyone.

How far are you from coleshill? There are some very good stock farmers around there.
RL farms next to the m42 by the split to the m6 toll road, seriously nice guy and farmed very well! Whether he’s still farming or retired I’m not sure but Rachel his daughter may well be farming it now. Someone from that area may know the farm name..
