why do sellers need to attend? just drop animals and go, dont bother with luck money down here.
I spend a year or more some times in case of cull cows 10 year or more producing something , least I can do is wait and see they get sold properly , those that give no fuk s to marketing should not be farmers but just farm workers if that’s all you want to do imo leave the bussiness to them that are interested in that side things would improve dramatically .

i enjoy seeing my livestock sold, and attend most of the markets i sell at. however whether i am watching in the ring or not makes no difference to the price i receive. during this time of crisis i think it more prudent to reduce the number of human interactions we each have.

It stops quick knocks for starters. It also ensures your on site for any problems, I had a fat beast broke it’s leg once which required a bit of sorting out , had one with wrong passport once etc etc , when they close the shopping centres I will stop going to mart with stock , they won’t do that in a hurry though will they £££

You can always sell from the comfort of your home via SellMyLivestock
you can, but who sets the price ? Most private treaty prices are based on live market prices, my big worry, is if m/kts are closed, and have to sell prime deadweight, the s/mkts will force the price down, so that will be baggered. On the other hand, if supply of imported food stuffs is delayed, compromised, or just not available, might be the opposite for our prices. Any way time will tell. I hope its the latter, we lacked the confidence to sell all we have for sale, Friday, as worried about the price, fetched more than we thought ! so should have taken more, although we can hold the rest, some will have to go, private treaty ?
