Livestock trailer

I hoped to purchase a new trailer with hope to cart bales in summer and have a livestock box on it at other times when larger amounts of cattle need moved however I don't have the money
Which is why I was wondering I have a 16 ft trailer I use for bales just now and if I found a box to go on it do you think it would sit too high and be unstable

Thought that just need to work away with the 12 ft ifor then and watch out for a trailer for conversion
I know trailers hold there value but just don't have the funds to buy in the first place

I know this isn't at all helpful. But there is a cracking trailer for sale at Chippenham farm sales. Full hydraulic lowering sheep decks. I appreciate you want a cheaper option. Just saying if you changed your mind.

If you don't mind me asking, roughly what price? I'm trying to find a 26-27' box with decks, hard to get a good one.
26ft 2 deck Farmstock container, 10ft single piece fly to roof run-up, slam gates, LED compartment and loading lights , 7ft 6in to 8ft 4in wide £21,250 / single deck £10,750 + VAT ex works

25ft trailer budget £7-9k oil / air brakes, commercial axles

The box was the thick end of 20k with the hydraulic run up it sounds a lot for the box but spec for spec it was as cheap as anything around haven't seen anything better than it yet :)

Thanks, did you compare to a Stewart box? I think they have been cheaper, but i'm not sure spec wise.

Very efficient there JP! Anything secondhand knocking about. I run an old williams box now, but I need decks. Last resort will be a new one!!

I only posted the last post as you'd asked the question. 2 deck 2nd hand are as rare as rocking horse ...

You'll find by the time they come off wagons, most are hanging, rotten deck rail supports, floors and roof panels. Don't get me wrong, we refurb many rigid livestock boxes for customers and anything is do-able although structurally and cost wise retro run-up conversions just don't stack up most of the time . As @sherg already alluded to

Feel free to give me a buzz anytime on 01904 232888. I actually now of a tidy 31ft 2-deck box that is sound and only needs paint if anyone is looking in and wants something bigger than what you might be considering

A stewart box is cheaper not by a lot though iirc I saw a secondhand one and it isn't build anything like this one, are stewart making their own boxes to put on trailers now @JP1 I had a feeling it was someone else's? The problem with the stewart box is that it wouldn't go on a lorry in the future I've got my class 2 and the plowman box future proofed me
