Tier 2 here, beer can be served with a "substantial" meal, we are currently discussing if 2 packets of crisps or peanuts/pork scratchings count?? What an utter fecking joke

I can cross the border to tier 1 on business as long as I stick to tier 2 rules. Can live with that. It's sensible.

I can't cross the tier 1 border to visit relatives and be part of their rule of 6, because I have to stick to tier 2 rules. It's sensible, but I wish the rules weren't there :-(

Lincolnshire in tier 3 probably due to my father who caught it in hospital now locked up incommunicado in Louth hospital. They won’t take a phone into a Covid room and as he can’t use a mobile we can’t give him one as they aren’t allowed to help him use it. God knows what he thinks is going on.

When you stand back and just think about all this for a moment, having the “Christmas break” as they have announced is utter madness. I can see why they did this of course and many folk have had a dreadful year (so far we’ve been very fortunate in our family group) but until a vaccine is available what is the point in taking unnecessary risks? I feel huge respect for the hospitality and events business's that have been hammered to the brink and some already bust. All round a dreadful situation. If We do not get a deal with the EU and a tit for tat trade war ensues, there will be trouble on the streets as we see the French protest when they get revved up over an issue. Happy New Year!
