These two used to belong to my dad, back in the days when life was a lot simpler....and limiters didn’t exist.

classics there but if I could nominate a company for having more corporate makeovers in terms of truck liveries Tarmac would surely win hands down , it must be nightmare for their haulage contractors it must change every 3 years ? The current one has the old blue circle of of Blue circle cement on it if ever there was a waste of money changing a well known brand to another well known brand must be it .

Funnily enough this popped up on Facebook earlier. New motor for one of my Brother in Law's mates. I'm growing to the next generation Scanias in high cab form, but still not convinced in low cab .

I know I’m a bit biased but I think the 7 T’s and the dark green was the best.

He would paint the drum every so often and the flys would stick to the yellow as it was drying, much to his annoyance!

Would love to buy and do up an old one for the memories, but I neither have the skills or the money. Spent a lot of my free time, and some days I should of been at school, with him.
Very happy memories

Still think they lost the way after the 3series

To look at, yes I would agree, but to drive I’m not so sure. Very low internal cab and I seem to recall really thin curtains to that let the light in. And very bouncy, especially if it had steel suspension. The ones we had were good pullers though for the size of the engines compared to the drival that Mercedes offered at the time, though the boxes didn’t like the cold very much.

I would say the 4series was my favourite, nice place to spend the week with a lot more room than the 3’s and also a nice vehicle to drive with a good stereo/speaker set up (which was very important for me at the time) and it still had a manual gearbox.

Mind, having said all that, if someone offered me a top of the range 730 S series, I wouldn’t say no!!
