I believe this is a friends old S26, I will have to ask him, but I’m sure it’s that reg No!
Didn’t look like this when he had it for timber hauling and low loader work!
One heck of a tool that went where other trucks wouldn’t dare.
When he’d finished with it it was bought by a fairground owner, who didn’t use it, then on to an enthusiast who managed to find a brand new cab for it, ex mod cab iirc, he did a fairly comprehensive resto on it I believe. I’m sure it was in slightly different livery then as I remember, but was actually meant to be the colours and livery of its original owner, it was then sold to a collector up north, I assume he’s changed the signwriting? Although I can’t find any info on this pic, so it might not be the right truck, but RNO on the plate certainly rings a bell with me.
Didn’t have the towing front on it originally though I’m sure.
If it’s the truck I think it is, it was an epic motor, and one that my friend wishes he’d kept now, but in reality if he kept it then it would be a pile of useless rust by now, and not the truck it is today.

This old Leyland belongs to local haulier Trevor Leech. She’s still going strong and he uses it for road runs. These days he uses a 2004 Foden for local tipper work every day.

This is just like George Lovatts training truck I drove in 1992. A couple of hours out in the sticks around south Warwickshire, couple of hours reversing and faffing at Wellesbourne Airfield, back to the cafe at Liveridge Hill, Hockley Heath and then all afternoon trawling around Birmingham.
Passed first time, all credit to George, still training think. I can still hear his broad brummie accent “Push her on a bit Peter!”

Trevor has owned the Bison from new. The first time I met him it would have been about twenty+ years old. I said what a lovely old truck it was and he said “Yes, she’s a good old thing. Just two finance payments to go!”

I think he was joking.....,

I will be honest not a big fan off American trucks always seemed backwards compared to European trucks. But I do like thisView attachment 771918
The cabs seem to sit taller on the Aussie spec ones, right hand drive too I suppose? I don't like those mega long wheelbase American ones either, seems to be a fashion over there but look horrendous, that's very smart though
