I have a couple of colour pics of Weavers in a deep green shade. They are very smart AEC ergo cab models. I’ll see if I can find them.

Farms rented out now and Barghes milk tankers did run from his yard but now Stantons of Stoke buses do, David is still about I do a lot of work for the lads who rent his farm so see him a bit

As we appear to have been in cattle truck mode lately, I thought I'd dig out dad's last two.....

....... he brought a lot of cattle to Lincolnshire from Wales and the Welsh borders with those two.

Those old Bedford vans! When I was a schoolboy I used to go hunting with our local pack of foot harriers and the kennel van was one of those. Happy days coming back home from a meet with 15 couple of steaming smelly hounds in the back and usually picked up a couple of dead sheep on the way home too. That's when you need the sliding doors, only way to get enough ventilation.

The hoveringham lorry Picture brought back childhood Memories
hoveringhams had a quarry next door to the farm
We had a family member work there So used to go out in the lorry on deliveries
happy days .

Hoveringham gave me a corgi toy lorry Which I've still got .

The last cow keeper in Liverpool on Marlborough Road, he used to get grass to feed them from the local parks and the football clubs in the city as well and delivered the milk by horse and cart. He moved up to Lancaster in 1975 along with his family and the cows.

For 15 years C&W Knight moved just about every tonne of lime I supplied. Jem Robbins in the office is as straight a man as you will ever find. 100% reliable and we have some great laughs too. He’s getting towards retirement age and has been at Knights since before he left school. If Jem says he’ll do something there is no doubt it’ll get done.

The Hoveringham Foden is owned by John Pearson of Pearson’s Transport in Coventry. They have also done bits of haulage for me in the past.

Both Knights and Pearson’s used to have fleets of several dozen trucks going back decades, but they now run just a handful each

There's another Knights lorry firm that are from Old, Northants. They haul a fair bit of steel out of Scunthorpe.

It always makes me smile when I see one of their wagons.............

....... a great play on words.
