Loader history?

Hello all.
Me and dad talking on the yard while removing a tanco loader off a case 895. Got him to talking about how he remembers a lot of farms not having loaders etc. The history of most implements seems fairly well known, but got me to wondering when/what the first front end loader as we know it today was attached to the front of a tractor? He’s thinking late 40’s early fifties, firms like JCB or MIL or horndraulic. Was just wondering if anyone knew. He reckons the Ferguson “banana loader” was the first loader you saw in any great numbers. Thank you for reading my boring and irrelevant post!

Our first loader was on a 1962 db 950 implematic, i dont think it did much as the replacement tractor an 880 selectamatic diddnt have a loader on for two years, that loader did a hell of a lot of work. A 2 bomfords a trima and a stoll after that. One of the bomfords the stoll and a db 990 with a loader are still here

Dad/Grandfather had a new Major in the mid 50s with a Horndraulic. Subsequently we only used knackered old industrial machines which, IMHO, were much better than agric loaders until the advent of modern high capacity hydraulics and shuttle transmissions.
This country, on the industrial side, was a world wide supplier of rope shovels pre WW2 with the likes of Chaseside and Muir Hill.

I remember dad getting a s/h Fordson major in 1967-8 and had fitted a new mil loader with a new Perry bale grab. A outfit ahead of its time, I've done a many a hr driving it days and days off school using it, I know where it is now, it's having a restoration and paint. Going to go and see it when it's done.

Was that a straight loader on the 950?

Ha,found this.

Had one a bit like that a few years ago( bought it out of some bushes)
It was on a cropmaster but the hydraulic rams were cranked and fitted either side of the radiator also the linkage the rams pushed was fitted either side of the seat inside the wings but the loader pivots were on the wheels
Got bored with it and sold it to a chap from devon

Now Then...
I have used such a 'banana loader'. The rams pushed against the rear axle as I recall. Pig of a thing to get on to drive. This was on a 1970 MF135.... No spools to control it and a trip bucket/fork...
Ohhhhhh, those were the days, eh..
I remember as a boy a T20 with that loader, but the muck fork had a hydraulic push plate with spring return. It eventually was replaced by a Cameron Gardner Rearloada on an IH 414. Good for neck ache after a days work!

Our 1st loader was a rear loader on a dexta. late 60`s ?
pull a valve thing between your legs to transfer the oil from the arms to the ram.
Pull a lever to tip the fork.
Only a slight improvement on a graip !
