Was talking to another farmer last week and somehow we were chatting about loader joystick. We both agreed back and forth is up and down, left and right is crowd and dump. But 3rd service is where we differed.
How do have yours?

Forward to grab, back to let go. If picking up a big bale it's usual you're opening as you're dropping the boom and then closing the grab as you're lifting.

Mind you I almost knocked a guy out unloading fertiliser, helping out a mate, his loader was set up so lever forward lifted the boom, when questioned why he said it came like that so he thought it was how it should be.

If it's using the button on the joystick, then it has to be left to close, right to open...

If it's using a third spool lever, it has to be forward to open, back to close...

Stems from learning to drive a digger with a 4in1 when I was a kid !!

Telehandler here with some shed builder's has up and down and boom in and out on one stick and crowd and dump on another lever. Kind of makes sense but takes some getting used to always got to check before you move lever

Exactly !

It's because industrial tele's don't need to tip/crowd much when using forks, but need to boom in/out a lot..

Damn confusing in my book..

We used to swap the pipes over when we hired one for loading straw, but it meant we had no self levelling and the boom would move out and in slightly when you raised/ lowered :ROFLMAO:
