Loader. Next little project.

ok i do understand that, and looks smart too, but you may find when left off tractor the loader rams have extended by different amounts,
making hitching up more difficult than needs to be, i am not sure how quicke control this

Ok, I thought you meant the old bracket system flopped around. I think other brands sort this via double acting rams. They tend to stay in place more and you can move them back and forth unlike grays single acting. I may well change to double acting if taking the loader off becomes an issue as I don’t want it on all the time.

Looks very neat and tidy on the tractor, compared to some factory ones

That’s good as that’s what I’ve been trying to achieve all along. I like it being close in as possible.i like the quicke Q40 loaders. Really close in.

makes a nice compact unit. Just can warrant the cost of one. I think including buying the brackets and loader it stands me in £350 plus a couple hoses at cost price. It’s just taken 3 years to get round to fitting it. [emoji848]

That's even better, thought it would be a few grand just for the stuff ...........

Found the brackets on eBay taken off MF for 250 plus a pallet delivery. loader was 100 off a chap I was collecting a tedder from. I’m pretty happy with how it’s turned out. Need to find a new project now. Oh no, wait a minute....

Looks great, I've put a share of time into modifying a ford horndraulic loader on a 4600, it's fun figuring out the geometry

double acting lift rams, whilst great and allow you to zero the frames, do bring a whole different lot of issues for normal loader work

What issues? I need to replace the lift rams in mine, they're currently running single acting as the chtomcis shot, what's the downside to double acting?

I'm not sure, unless harder on the mounts as you now have the ability to lift the front of the tractor on the down stroke?

How's Mary Ellen, keeping well?

Thanks, the geometry wasn’t so much a problem. Height of the tractor brackets and width was the main issues along with drilling the main pick up point for the brackets to fit the tractor. I cut the loader in half to make it 4” wider to made new loader brackets. I cheated by copying a friends loader there so geo was already done for me. put a pic or two up of yours. Always like seeing engineering triumphs especially where you’re told it’s not possible.

had a horndraulic in ford colours on a 4004, just could not keep the bolts tight, i blamed the double acting rams for making it worse
