Loader tractor

I’m on the look out for a loader tractor to compliment our telescopics but also be able to tow trailers, a set of rolls, run a topper and on occasions run a 4m power Harrow. We are mainly light soils growing roots. The budget would be no more than £40,000. It needs to be very nimble shuttling backwards and forwards as it would be in the field for strawing over wintered root crops which is an intensive job.

I should add it would need air brakes as all our straw trailers run air bags and we stack bales 6 high so it would need to be able to handle 3 big square bales.

6420/30 John Deere we've no idea what we'll be able to get to replace ours with in the future they're great tractors for loader work
The new type n series valtra would be good as they're a relatively small bonnet so you can see the loader attachment better than most

Would fit the bill but well over budget.

Edit just realised what a poor pic. It is a valtra N154. Used values are going to be well out with OP budget. It is a nice machine tho.

I’ve driven a lot of 64 KD and I just couldn’t get on with any of them with the loader work. Cracking tractors no doubt about it, plenty of power and super on the road. But, whenever I have done some loader work I’ve always found them very numb, no field of vision to bale spikes/pallet tines ect. I really do rate the N series for loader work, as said small bonnet and very very nimble round our tight yards.

P.S. I’m not one to slag JD off as if I had the chance I’d have a 6930 here yesterday

You should try an R if you think a 30 is bad then ! Longer wheelbase and bigger bonnet not for me thanks

Had a T6 on demo with loader, scary light on the back end. 400/500 KG light hayledge bales and it were cocking it’s back leg in my friends yard, wouldn’t want to live with that. Shame as it’s a good tractor really
