Local Crime Waves

In the past couple of weeks the local rural community have suffered from an epidemic of crime of which the Police are powerless to do anything about.
Below is an edited version of what I have sent to the police.

We are experiencing what can only be described as a massive crime wave on the rural community and I am afraid the Rural Police Team are not greatly thought of by the farmers or country people.

In the last week not only have quad bikes been stolen but yesterday a Tack room was broken into locally and all of the horses were let out, including a Mare that was in Foal which broke its leg and had to be put down. Today a local farmer had his van stolen with his sheep dogs in, luckily it had a Tracker and was found some ten miles away. There are pictures of the men who took it on CCTV but unless forensic evidence is found they will get away with it.

One farmer who has had two quad bikes stolen and a trailer which he pursued through the streets of the local town a year or so ago never received any help from 999.

On a separate incident, I found a large quantity of Cannabis and bags dumped in a gateway I tried to report it through 101 but gave up after half an hour waiting to get through. I reported it via the on line reporting which was very tedious to fill in. I received and acknowledgement and expected something to happen. 5 days later I received an email to say the police were investigating it.

After our quad bike was stolen this week I tried to contact two of the rural team, but their phones just go through to 101.

I am afraid the local community are very close to taking things into their own hands which will end up with someone being injured or worse unless more is done by the Police.

There was a report on Facebook of an individual being arrested for being equipped to burgle!! I doubt that will ever stick and it is highly unlikely they were on their own.

The vehicles that are fitted with Trackers all end up in or near to the Pikey camps. I would estimate that 90% of the crime is by these people and the costs to local communities is no longer sustainable.

Do other areas have these issues or are we particularly badly affected?

Yes yes and yes. Just as bad around here, North Yorkshire.

Sadly this is common all over the uk. I had a drugged up looking driver threatening to stab me on the m25 last week. I accidentally pulled out on him as he was going so fast he came out of nowhere. There was no police available to attend but the nice lady on 999 could guide us to the nearest police station several miles away. Got a little hairy seeing as he was boxing me in and forcing me onto the off-ramp. Good job at the last minute he pulled off I had no other options than to ram him if it came to it

We are getting hit by lead theives ,,local church had a load stripped about 4 weeks ago ,,last friday it was hit again ,the same night only a mile away ,,a couple on a smallholding had two birds of prey stolen along with the eggs they were sitting ,, Coincidence as there is a large caravan site nearby and the police wont set foot in it .
Built with in this site is a scrap yard that operates at very weird times and are the only place that will pay cash ,no questions asked ,,again ,the police daren't go in .
Last year and luckily after harvest ,a lorry load of rubbish from said scrap yard was dumped in a field ,,the lorry was spotted and locals put it on FB crime page ,10 minutes after was posted ,,somebody was seen setting fire to the heap to destroy the evidence and by the time the fire brigade got to it ,it was a molten mess .

Well done for venting your frustration and thoughts on what is fast becoming a national issue, however expect to be severely reprimanded by our PC law enforcers , for your description of a , repressed , displaced , minority group, , I'm sure all on here share the same sentiments on that particular group of parisites though

So all this came to the nations attention a couple of years ago with the tragic death of that young brave policeman, who was dragged behind a car with the people in the car knowing they had him caught up in a rope? A lot of tough? words were bandied about etc etc etc? but once its gone out of the news? nothings changed? Ive come to the very sad conclusion in the last few years that the bad? people are winning winning? doing the right thing? paying your taxes, insuring your motor vehicles why bother? the others dont they ride about until some poor innocent gets injured? the police stated the other day that over 500 burgelries a day are commited, many the police dont even bother to attend? and the chances of a conviction is very very remote? what a very sad inditment of modern life in great britian?

Crime around here is rife . Most of it can be pinned down on one individual . He systematically targets farms but gets away with it every time . He has been arrested time and time again but released . Police thought they had nailed him good and proper 18 mths or so ago ...he was caught with the keys to a stolen pickup in his pocket but the CPS said there was insufficient evidence to convict him !!
I see the police were at his house again last Thurs ...2 police cars and 3 vans !

What you need is Dirty Harry, the Enforcer? The scum the bad, the mister bigs? of serious crime dealt with? left to rot where they lie as a warning to others ?

12 years of Tory cuts to Police, what do you expect ?

Yet we keep voting for the Conservatives……
I don't think the number of police makes much difference when they are so bad at doing their job

Just completely out of control everywhere. Locally a smmallholding sudddenly sprouted an amazing steel fence 8 foot high around three or four acres. Electric gates which are coated in steel sheet so you can see nothing inside. Just get the bodd glimpse of a maze of caravans, lorries with hiabs you name it just outside a little sleepy village. Every planning brule in the book has been broken , but nothing is done

Low Morale
Not enough people to do the job properly
Resources stretched

How can the Police fight crime, when the government has tied one hand behind their backs????
This is what's trotted out all the time and no doubt there is some truth in it. However they give the impression of not giving a flying fig. Example from a couple of weeks ago, transit van calls, says their from the highways agency and there's going to be some work done on the road and they want somewhere to put the old tarmac, it will be free. The old scam because they then want £4 a square foot for laying it ! I checked their reg number on the DVLA site and the van was not taxed. Phoned the police told them all this, also told them where they've come from because there's a load of them turned up not far away. Standard response "it will be added to our intelligence". Well what is so difficult about going down and confiscating an untaxed van? Later found out at least 3 other reports had been made for the same thing and for other vehicles as well, they all got the same response. I could fill this page with other examples.

Not enough people? Well how come it takes 2 police people to come and stencil a code onto equipment so it can be identified after it's been stolen, when one civilian could have done it.
