96% were 0-1
4% were 2
96% were 0-1

O lamness is only possible with pure jerseys they have the best feet of any breed there also the lightest dairy breed so theres less weight to carry. So eleven months on
We are now
92% 0
3%. 1
5 %. 2
0 %. 3
Happy with our progress though still frustrated by the 14 cows above 1
Having an independent scorer has definitely upped my game. I don’t always agree with the scorers interpretation but always act on it
Haven’t culled anything for lameness so far but there may well be a few on the list this autumn if 1 the empty rate is good and 2 I haven’t improved them further.
Recent vets news letter suggested that 100% 0s and 1s is not only possible but given the right protocols probable.
Something to aim at.
Why is it possible to have 95% but not a 100% ?O lamness is only possible with pure jerseys they have the best feet of any breed there also the lightest dairy breed so theres less weight to carry.
Correction 98%Why is it possible to have 95% but not a 100% ?

Why is it possible to have 95% but not a 100% ?
Didnt you nearly kill your self with a knife trimming a jersey?....and please don't assume that jerseys don't try to get lame as well.
Agree reference the law of diminishing returns. but we are talking about sentient beings.Nothings impossible, just be mindful of the law of diminishing returns.
I'm not even going to start on the jersey only theory.

So we are now
96% 0s and 1s
3.7% 2s (10 cows)
.3 % 3s. 1 cow
none were culled last autumn as the empty rate didn’t allow. So slow but steady progress being maintained.
Yeah 4 of them. Are any of those 2s repeat offenders?
I’d say you’re doing well, but yes you have something to work on. Many people say they have no lameness until they get an independent score. I think 10% would be better than most!Scored this afternoon
