Location for new TV Series

Hi all,

I’m writing from KEO Films, a TV production company based in London and Bristol.

We are developing a new series for a major broadcaster which would see a celebrity take himself off to a rural part of the UK and try to live off the land with all the joy and tribulation that entails. It's conceived as a very charming, escapist series which celebrates all that is good about the British countryside and the people living there. We want this to be an immersive, authentic series that we could potentially keep coming back to year after year.

We’re looking for a property / location for the celebrity to move into. Something which fits the following;
  • Land which the celebrity can sustain himself off, growing his own veg etc.
  • A nice view, and beautiful surrounding countryside.
  • Rural but not too remote – community nearby that the celebrity could interact with and become part of.
  • Small simple cottage, or possibility for a hut/cabin.
  • Initially we would be looking to let for 12 months – with the possibility to extend as we would like it to be a returnable series.
  • Available within the next month.
  • We have a flexible budget, dependant on the property, that is in line with market rates.
For a bit of context about KEO Films: We have produced over 500 hours of some of the highest quality programming for all major UK channels, including the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV. Our work includes BBC One’s hugely popular cooking format Best Home Cook, and 15 years of rural loveliness at River Cottage. Over the years our programmes have won six BAFTAS, five Royal Television Awards, five Broadcast Awards, two Emmys, and been nominated for Best Documentary Film at the Oscars.

If anyone has any interest in this - it would be great to have a chat!

Thanks,

Patrick
