Lockdown red tractor inspection

Disinfectant seems to be this year's hot ticket as a couple types have been withdrawn. Making it a major non compliance if farms are using old stock.
So disinfectant that was considered effective for many years suddenly isn’t, wonder if that’s because it’s no longer is effective, never was effective or just hasn’t ticked the right box.

I know sorgene 5 has been off the list fir a while yet I can remember a time when it was portrayed by the manufacturers as being the best

No it isn't efficacy.
It's either a lapse or non renewal of a specific ingredient or an ingredient being QAC.

Gripes me that the first I hear of it is during an assement though.
Luckily I was ok as I only buy 5L at a time.
If someone has bought 25L or even more it could be a year or more between replenishment.

Not sure what the QAC’s are, although I seem to remember something about them not being allowed in dairy wash chemicals anymore a few years back but I’d have thought disinfectant would be a different matter, I’m sure there’s plenty of disinfectants you wouldn’t want to put through a parlour wash but as I say, I have no idea what QAC’s are although it would seem that they were used in some dairy wash chemicals until fairly recently

got pulled up couple of years ago our disinfeectant was maff aproved but it had to be defra approved.

😁

I know this isn't the thread for it but my main gripe this time is I picked up a non conformance for not being a Dairy Pro member.
Only a recommendation this year. So that means it's inbound as compulsory 😣
I’m not either, as with a lot of this stuff it’s BS.
Arable have something similar, nrso points I think it’s called, went to Lamma with a mate , he had to look for their stand to say he’d been to get his points, needs so many points over 3 years I think. Other than go to Lamma and see the same things as me there was nothing special that he did to get those points.

No doubt it will be similar for dairy, points for going to shows, farm walks etc, the sort of thing I do whenever I get the chance and quite regularly except there will then be that bit more pressure to attend-on those days when there really is more important stuff needs doing at home and in all honesty missing the odd show or whatever is highly unlikely to make me a poorer farmer..........but it keeps someone happy

I have the added issue of being vehemently against compulsory Levy bodies. So I don't engage with them.
This Dairy Pro is AHDB's baby and as such falls into the same category.

Best I can hope for is independent CPD being allowed I guess.

I’ve been to a couple of ahdb farm walks that were a complete waste of time, only went for a nosey at the farms anyway.
Their will probably come a time when we are compelled to go but I’ll cross that bridge when it comes.

Had mine a few weeks ago.
The assessor was a nice bloke, and it worked relatively smoothly considering it was 2 farms and 8 miles between.
Found I got more non conformances, but that was due to being unable to find certain bits of paperwork quickly and I sent them through within a few days (UFAs number for feed and dirty needle policy). I found it ok though, and a little shorter than normal

Two weeks ago my assesor rang to book a visit for the second week of November. He said it would be as normal but we could email any paperwork early to minimise the time he spent here on the day.
Its now looking like we will be in lockdown, and I'm starting to wander if he will want it done via video link as happened with some folk I read about during the first lockdown, or has that idea been abandoned altogether?

How did folk get on doing live video, signal is P poor here and zero Gs around the yard and buildings.

I had our assessment/audit a couple of weeks ago, you don't need to do a video tour if you've got a good reason like poor signal. I have a broken leg so couldn't exactly wonder around filming for them so I just uploaded pictures of the items/areas the assessor specified, it seemed to work fine. I would just request the picture option rather than live video they can't exactly turn you down.

You shouldn't be emailing the documents you log into the RT portal online and upload what is needed. If your relatively computer literate it is far easier than the face to face on paper system in my opinion. Only problem is the headings on the RT documents Portal don't correlate to the actual documents your required to upload. So make sure you ask your assessor or you'll end up trying to upload loads of crap you don't need to and missing out some of the compulsory stuff!

I only make up the bullshite bits the night before.

suppose 95% isn’t far off really.
some of it isnt bullshite tho we all know that, it just so happens not to be not written down
And what diff does 95% of what we did before being told we had to do things this way made any diff to the quality of livestock or grain leaving our farms
NAFF all thats what its done.
