Lockdown red tractor inspection

I received my annual demand for money from the protection racket today. Looks like we need a time machine. It’s a bit rich them having such power over businesses when they can’t even sort out their own admin.

I got the same - they couldn't run a fecking bath, mind you NSF did start as a certification body for hand driers in public toilets.;)
Are you paying it now or will you let it run to the end of the month?

My stickers arrived 5 days after the last lot expired. If I hadn’t printed off passports from the RT portal I would have had no passport for load that went on Wednesday.

Two weeks ago my assesor rang to book a visit for the second week of November. He said it would be as normal but we could email any paperwork early to minimise the time he spent here on the day.
Its now looking like we will be in lockdown, and I'm starting to wander if he will want it done via video link as happened with some folk I read about during the first lockdown, or has that idea been abandoned altogether?

How did folk get on doing live video, signal is P poor here and zero Gs around the yard and buildings.

Well I now have my answer. Inspection over and the only thing virtual about it was the paper work which I had virtually finished printing :ROFLMAO:

No video calls, emails or portals. As agreed a month ago, he came out and gave me the usual going over. Left in good spirits to do two more.
Thankfully father listened to me and stayed away.

So did you have an inspection today?
Wanted to come here last week but too busy so put off till this week but with no date set. I hadn’t heard anything so presumed they were all cancelled for now so have backed off on the preparation for now, so u need to resume panic mode?

Ah crack on! All still on, no different to a vet visit he reckoned. Said he's willing to do paperwork in a shed if needs be, but he came in the kitchen as normal and did it there.

Spent the morning scanning and uploading documents and will take pics of the things they want to see this afternoon .
Should be an option to tick a not applicable box on quite a few of the questions .
I’m sure there’s things I’ve never had to answer before, like prove where your fuel for the drier comes from!!

Are people having inspections at their normal time of the year still?
I usually have mine at the end of Oct/early Nov and get a call 2-3 weeks before. I haven’t heard anything from them this year.

Yes mine will be later this month but with stuff uploaded to the portal and then a video call on the day

Bang on the day, I moved the cow's here 9 years ago yesterday and we had to have an emergency audit the following day. Nothing changes, just the paperwork gets more!

Inspection today.

Year on year you remember the panic of being asked for a piece of paper you've never heard of before, but forget the long, long silences.

Like others I find the run-up to it horribly stressful. I don't know exactly why, we always pass (kind of) but the protocols etc. Seem so horribly demanding and hectoring and have so much detail... So many bits of paper. Ghastly policies which are either too "big picture" to be stating anything beyond the blindingly obvious or about matters so small as to be irrelevant (dog worming)

I've been doing this for over 10 years, and it still blights a couple of weeks of my year, however much I follow the "wing it and deal with the noncompliance afterwards" approach.

The assessment never seems to bear much relationship to the protocols. The inspector sends me a A4 list of the things he has to see, which seems much more sensible.

That seems to be a common theme here, people hate the system but find their assessors quite reasonable.

NSF do quite a good booklet that you can enter all the stuff like when you washed stuff, beekeper names etc saves the scrambling around. when added to the gatekeeper print out it makes it a bit easier

I’ve just had inspector wanting to do on farm beef inspection.

told him no as currently in lockdown 2.0

he said he had several more nspections booked

so I suggested he Unbooked them as he was leaving himself wide open for a fine.

I also screenshotted the info to him as per one of my earlier posts

Annoyingly I've actually had to be badgering then to get an assessment done.

The marketing body needs it. It goes badly against the grain to have to ask for an inspection.
