Since I’ve connected the wire back up it’s not been running quite right. Tonight whilst putting some fert in every time I stopped it would stall, it restarted again everytime except once when I needed to jump start it. I have ordered a battery charger so will give it a full charge which I guess will help if it has been run flat.

Well the next time you are using it and it stalls disconnect the large wire from the dynamo to see if its related? Put the terminal in a small plastic bag or use insulating tape, don't let it touch the steel bodywork or you may well have a short and smoke.
Highly unlikely the stalling to be related, but you never know.

If the cutout is jammed shut and the battery is discharging through the dynamo - that could possibly cause the dynamo to 'motor' putting load or resistance on the engine causing it to stall. I'm saying possibly because thats the theory but i've never tried this out.
If you take your dynamo belt off and with the battery fully charged see if the dynamo is being turned by the battery that should confirm it. Alternatively get a volt meter and see if theres 12v on the electrical connector that goes to the D connector when the engine is turned off. If it is then the cutout on your RB108 regulator is jammed shut and the regulator needs replaced, or opened and cleaned and contact clearances at the bobbins reset if you are brave enough to have a go. I've prised them open with a screwdriver before and cleaned the contacts with some fine emery paper and had some success.

Managed to get her looking a bit cleaner today with a day on the steam cleaner and degreaser.

Also managed to get the battery on charge and the pick up hitch swapped over underneath so now just need to get a t-bar

Only issue is the steam cleaning has made a leaky core plug even worse, it needed replacing but now needs replacing even sooner.

I have a hydraulic coupling on the tractor but only one leaver which engages the pto and hydraulic lift arms, if I wanted to use the coupling for a tipping trailer how would I operate it?

Looking good ................. (y)

If you wanted to try some Isopon P40 (or equivalent made by others) in the old core plug as a temporary (kick it down the road) fix? Clean and score the surface well for best results.

To operate tipping pipe:
Engage PTO
Lift arms fully
When the arms go up fully, the oil will start coming out the tipping pipe.
To let it back down, move the arms control lever down.

Thanks will see how long before he gets to me.

Thanks for the hydraulic advice, what sort of lift capacity would it have?

Will depend on the diameter of the lifting ram on the trailer, but should be fine for light work.
If "he" has a pressure gauge (0-3000PSI) pop it on the tipping pipe to see what the pump is like.
Around 2000PSI will be very good for an old girl like her, though it should be closer to 2800, (not sure of the exact figure to be honest for a grey Ferguson). Some of the other lads will know exactly ...........
But probably about 1000 when hot, depending on work it has done in the past. As long as it lifts what you ask of it, leave well enough alone.

Thanks @Mursal

This morning “it” won’t start battery fully charged, turns over but won’t quite fire enough to run itself....this was an issue pre steam clean was hoping full battery would heal it.

Heater plug in the inlet manifold?
Cold start button on the injector pump click (reply #4) , I think its on the front of the pump above where it bolts to the engine.
Will check it’s still working cheers. Could the starter be knackered, it doesn’t always make a connection so something I have to bridge the gap with a screwdriver just to get the starter to whir it then connects next attempt
