Log Splitter Rams, Sizes

I was looking at hydraulic rams for a log splitter on the ramko website http://ramko.co.uk/log-splitter-range/log-splitter-cylinders.html
They do two rams one is 90mm bore and 60mm rod and the other is 90mm bore and 50mm rod. What's the difference between the 50mm and 60mm rod
Which would be the better one

The 60mm rod/piston will be stronger but both will excert same force at a given pressure extending due to 90mm bore but the 60mm rod one will be quicker to retract but not so strong due to surface area the oil can work against. I.e if you wanted the ram to work both ways the 50mm rod one woukd pull more if that makes sense. The 60mm one woukd be best choice of two as it won’t bend the rod plus it wilk retract quicker. 90mm bore does not give a lot of force for a log splitter though unless you have a very high working pressure.
