London Cafe Completely Ditches Dairy After Watching YouTube Video

Shocking video, I would be very shocked if I had know idea about the industry and saw this. As a farmer I think the way the livestock were handled in the video is discusting.

Im pretty sure I could find a video of poor practice in cafes and declare that I am never going into one again.

The video is shocking but it is also not typical, it is taking the worst examples and putting them all together. However that is enough now for people to make choices as they have no idea about reality.

It will be interesting to see how they go if their business suffers, as mentioned above they are so outraged they are using up their stocks first!

The issue is not about the video, its our lack of positive promo that leaves a huge gap thats easy to fill by negative misleading industry wide accusations and claims. As an industry we are far too quiet sharing all the good news. Many comments say "we" know this is not typical, thats the problem, "we" are not the ones buying the milk and "we" react with silence. Is it any wonder alternative dairy is the fastest growing brand in the UK.

No one has really addressed my point though, that the industry always seems to be defending itself rather than promoting itself (like the cafe or vegans etc.etc.).

Or am I just too negative and more is being done than I think?

With all the misinformation out there about dairy and how easy it is to spread without any proof it really makes me wonder about staying in the industry. Even look at what gets spread from within the dairy industry.

This latest increase in dairy prices is likely to be short lived since there seem to be still excess of dairy produced.
