Long term cattle / cropping rotation

Another thought: If you no tilled your wheat with a companion crop of fodder radish and other non frost-hardy broadleaved species, you could enhance the grazing even more.

My Pedders #1 mix after grazing is now a fantastic crop of volunteer winter barley and oats. Won't be taking it through to harvest as it's destined for maize but it shows what's possible. On the other hand it could be riddled with BYDV for all I know.

Interesting idea, you could certainly take a crop of oats through, we've got a good stand going into the spring. Volunteer wheat/barley always likely be an issue drilling straight up behind combine
