Long Term wool storage

Wasn`t there something on here recently where someone had used "raw" wool for insulation and it was a bit of a disaster? I just wonder what it would be like after a few years - you could be throwing good money after "worthless" ! Bit like putting fivers under the mattress and mice chewing `em to shreds...:ROFLMAO:

Thinking of buying a wool press to press our wool for long term storage (Like 10yrs)
Think the wool would be alright after all that time without being treted for something?

Unless your wool has a history of being near the top of the market in price /kg. forget it. Wool colour deteriorates with time, that affects dyeing results. If the end use is insulation, or similar commodity, it will always be competing with other cheap materials, natural or synthetics.
The Aussies thought their wool was too precious to sell cheaply decades ago, despite their wool mountain totalling over a years production and comprising of lower grade wools. It was later sold off over 5 years resulting in a permanent devaluation of the world wool trade from which the industry has never recovered.

Sell it, bite the bullet. If your clip has always fetched prices below the average sale price and has been bought as a cheap 'filler' by the processor, then consider a change of fibre type (breed) or shedders.
