Longhorn XT

I’m looking to buy a 240v shearing kit, looking at the Longhorn XT or the Lister Nexus, the longhorn is a bit cheaper but only goes to 2850rpm whereas the lister can be adjusted up to 3200rpm

yeah , slightly different machine , Nothing against the 'direct drive' and because of that ,...single speed... longhorn,

but i would go for the belt drive 3 speed Nexus (and run him flat out ) i also think he will hold his secondhand value better.

edit but don't forget Horner's price for their XT motor includes a flexdrive.
