Looking for one acre of land to buy in Devon/Cornwall

Hello, my father passed away last year and have left me a small pot of money. With it I would like to do what he was unable to do and buy a small plot of land. I am based near Okehampton, but anything up to an hour away would be perfect. I would prefer woodland and some easy access to the site. It is not for development, but my husband and I are both in Civil Engineering so we would wish to build a basic shepherd's hut. Just for personal use.

Is there anything suitable? I am pulling my hair out trying to find anything. An acre would be plenty big enough. Just something to call my own and have some peace and quiet would be perfect. the idea to encourage native wildlife really interests me, so this would be a goal of the plot also.

I hope you find your piece of land
Unfortunately for you though there are loads of other people also looking for exactly the same thing
Farmers on the whole are reluctant to sell small bits as they end up with “shanty town” neighbours .. no offence there intended.... but another farmer as a neighbour is far preferable to allotments, good lifers, woodland schools etc

try Land Agents. They may know of people willing to sell. Patch ?

\Thank you! I understand. Shanty town is a great way of putting it. I am making contact with Land Agents as we speak as a second option.
